We are PROUD to announce our February 2024 OWNERSHIP Student-Leaders. This character trait focus is sponsored by Casey's General Store of Shelbyville with representative, Thomas Ward. Each student received a voucher for a FREE Large Pizza with any toppings & a 32 ounce drink.

Kindergarten Family READING Night! We joined together for a targeted CELEBRATION of our earliest learners “Unlocking the POWER of READING!” We want our students to feel EMPOWERED by learning to READ & realize how special this is. Several partners came together to organize this Family event & the fact that our partners were students & groups within our own schools makes it another level of special & evidence that we are “all in” to provide the absolute best experience for our kids. Mr. Eddie Williams & Mrs. Rebekah Drone are teachers in our district & leaders of our very own SHS Drama Club & Theater program. This group did an excellent job showcasing segments of their upcoming spring musical: “Frozen.” They also made literacy connections from early foundational language skills & the performance. Mrs. Rebekah Drone & our very own SHS National Honor Society (NHS) also joined us & provided volunteers to assist in the cafeteria w/ snack as well as created a cute backdrop highlighting popular children’s literature characters as a photo opportunity in which they offered to take family pictures. Our very own Mrs. Patti Tynan (Music Teacher) & Mrs. Bridgette Cole (Art Teacher) did organize much of the event. Mrs. Cole even showcased K student Art w/ a couple of projects including “Love Monsters” which was connected to Reading! We are very PROUD of our students & it was very evident that our teachers care so much about our students & have great relationships with students & families. We hope our families enjoyed the experience & we can keep this positive momentum focused on learning going strong! ALL students received a FREE BOOK & “monster finger.” We are so LUCKY to be a RAMS Family!

Don't forget: Sub sandwich pick-up is from 12-2 p.m. today at Moulton Middle School. If you ordered a sub, they can be picked up from the 8th grade wing (Northwest doors) via drive-through.

Registration for Spring Preschool Screening & Kindergarten Pre-Registration is now open. We welcome any little one 0-5 years in the Shelbyville School District. This is the first step in the process to be eligible for Baby STEPS or STARS Preschool. We also do screenings for anyone who is simply curious about their child's development. Current students in Baby STEPS or STARS Preschool do NOT need to attend screening. Those moving on to Kindergarten are already pre-registered. Call 217.774.4731 ext. 5 to set up an appointment.
